REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (October 26, 2020) – Residents and employees of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach have access to free assistance with Covered California enrollment – the state’s implementation of the Affordable Care Act – through Beach Cities Health District (BCHD). Open enrollment, a time when individuals and families can explore and purchase health insurance policies for 2021, is open November 1, 2020-January 31, 2021. Residents who have a qualifying life event may also enroll in Covered California now without waiting for regular open enrollment.

Even if coverage is only needed for a few months, Covered California can meet those health insurance needs. By law, coverage can no longer be dropped or denied, even if the patient has a pre-existing medical condition or becomes sick.

BCHD has a team of certified enrollment counselors ready to assist residents and families in applying for health insurance or simply reviewing their available health insurance options.

For assistance with Covered California, please call (310) 374-3426, ext. 256.
