More than 1,000 strong, our network of volunteers form the backbone of Beach Cities Health District (BCHD). Diverse, motivated and talented, BCHD volunteers have the opportunity to work in a variety of community-focused programs and play an integral role in improving the health and well-being of Beach Cities residents.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has changed BCHD operations significantly, volunteers have stepped up to support the community by running errands for essential supplies, delivering meals and making check in calls to isolated and vulnerable residents, increasing food security, connection and reducing social isolation from a distance. We also have volunteers assisting at the Redondo Beach testing site and also calling individuals who tested positive for COVID-19. We are fortunate to have committees, volunteers and interns assisting with special projects virtually as well. Beach Cities Health District received generous responses from our community call for medical and non-medical volunteers to assist with COVID-19 vaccinations.
We’d like to thank all everyone who reached out to BCHD asking how they can help during COVID-19. We're so grateful for the tremendous response we've received from our Beach Cities Community.
