Institute on Aging - Senior Intervention Hotline for Crisis
Institute on Aging’s 24-hour toll-free Friendship Line is the only accredited crisis line in the country for people aged 60 years and older, and adults living with disabilities. Also make on-going outreach calls to lonely older adults. Trained volunteers specialize in offering a caring ear and having a friendly conversation with depressed older adults. The Friendship Line is both a crisis intervention hotline and a warmline for non-emergency emotional support calls. Support services include: providing emotional support, elder abuse reporting, well-being checks, grief support through assistance and reassurance, active suicide intervention, and information and referrals for isolated older adults, and adults living with disabilities.

Winter Shelter Program Hotline
Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority - Winter Shelter Program. Winter Shelter Hotline at 1-800-548-6047 (available 24 hours a day, seven days a week). About the Winter Shelter Program: Winter shelters provide shelter, warmth, food, and comfort to homeless individuals during the cold and wet weather season. In addition to temporary emergency shelter, each program location provides access to supportive services and housing assistance. The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority coordinates the Winter Shelter Program in partnership with the California National Guard, the County of Los Angeles, and the City of Los Angeles.
