Schools + Parents
Nutrition Education
The LiveWell Kids Garden and Nutrition programs have combined to create a hybrid, farm-to-table program. For more information on the LiveWell Kids Program for the 2021-22 school year, please visit www.bchd.org/livewellkids.

Since 2007, LiveWell Kids Nutrition has been an in-class nutrition education curriculum for K-5 students in the Redondo Beach Unified School District, taught by trained parent volunteers who deliver nutrition lessons throughout the school year. The program consists of five 30-minute lessons based on a thorough review of existing, evidence-based strategies.

2020-2021 UPDATE
Due to COVID-19, volunteer delivery of LiveWell Kids Nutrition is on hold for the 2020-2021 academic year. To go along with distance learning, the first two nutrition lessons have been converted into video format.  These videos are tailored to fit two age groups:  Grades TK- 2nd and Grades 3rd-5th. Accompanying handouts are included with each lesson plan.

Lesson 1: Mindful Eating Behaviors

Lesson 2: Eating from the Rainbow (Fruits & Vegetables)
