Beach Cities residents now have access to health insurance coverage through Covered California. Covered California is a marketplace where individuals and families may get financial assistance to make health coverage more affordable. Residents also can compare and choose health coverage that best fits their needs and budget. Additionally, by law, coverage can no longer be dropped or denied, even if the patient has a pre-existing medical condition or becomes sick.
Open Enrollment Dates: November 1, 2020 – January 31, 2021 for coverage beginning January 1, 2021
Special Enrollment is Open Now: September 1 - November 1
To enroll for coverage during the Special Enrollment Period, you must have a qualifying life event. People who experience a qualifying life event can newly enroll in a health plan through Covered California even outside the open-enrollment period. Currently enrolled members who experience a qualifying life event can change their coverage or choose a new plan. This is called special enrollment. Click here to see whether you qualify for special enrollment.
Even if you only need coverage for a few months, look to Covered California throughout the year for your health insurance needs.
