IN MOTION - The Human Body in Movement
Reception and Awards: Saturday, June 12 6-8 p.m.
More than 100 works of movement by California’s most talented artists will be on display, including paintings, photography, sculptures and more. The opening reception is open to the public and will include refreshments, an awards presentation and a special display of bodies in motion. Presented by the Beach Cities Heath District and Friends of Redondo Beach Arts group. Artwork will be located throughout the first and second floor of BCHD at 514 N. Prospect Ave, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
July 28, 11:15 a.m. - Noon
45-minute FREE Yoga Demo Class
Relax and rejuvenate with a FREE 45 min YogaFlex demo at the Manhattan Village Mall. For adults (18+) from beginner to expert, mats will be provided and fitness clothing is suggested.

Pre-assessment for those interested in joining the Memory Club
Details and benefits:
- Eight week psycho educational support group for individuals diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia and their care partners
- Participants will benefit from a professional group facilitation by two licensed mental health clinicians
- Will receive a physician presentation to assist participants with understanding the information they have received from their personal physician and assist them with enhancing their ability to communicate with their physician
- Will receive a presentation from the UCLA Alzheimer's Disease Research Center to discuss clinical trials
- Attend an attorney presentation to discuss legal paperwork and future planning including Durable Powers of Attorney for Health Care and Finances
- Receive a notebook full of resources, referrals and pamphlets to assist participants in accessing community based services and social support
September 11, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
CPR, AED and First Aid
CPR, AED and First Aid for adults, infants and children will teach resuscitation techniques, response to cardiac arrest, assisting non breathing individuals and multiple injury assistance. This is an American Heart Association approved and State of California Emergency Medical Services Authority approved course. Participants will receive a course completion card for CPR, AED and first aid that are valid for 2 years. Please bring lunch with you. Cost is $65 for residents and $75 for nonresidents.
September 16, 7:30 - 9 p.m. (ends October 21)
Anger - Positive Outcomes From a Strong Emotion
Learn how to identify problems, acknowledge and understand feelings, and use the energy of anger in a way that can produce constructive rather than destructive outcomes. Facilitated by Jackie LaBouff, certified anger management counselor. Cost is $60 for residents and $75 for nonresidents.
October 9, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
CPR and AED
CPR and AED for adults, infants and children will teach resuscitation techniques, response to cardiac arrest and assisting non breathing individuals. This is an American Heart Association-approved course and participants will receive certification cards valid for two years. Cost is $55 for residents and $65 for nonresidents.
