South Bay Coalition for the Homeless

The SBCH brings community resources together, including the BCHD Center for Health Connection, to respond to and prevent homelessness in the South Bay.

The Coalition’s network for resources has grown to include:

  • Faith-based organizations
  • South Bay Family Health Care and Torrance Health Care
  • National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence
  • Behavorial Health Services, Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Los County Homeless Outreach
  • Others who provide services to those with chronic mental or physical illness

Coalition members are active in raising awareness of the large number of homeless who live in the South Bay, helping to raise funds, solicit donations and recruit volunteers.  It is a community-based, grassroots effort.  In addition to regional work, the Coalition collaborates at the county level to participate in the community dialogue and social transformation of homeless services throughout Los Angeles County.
