Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is a public agency dedicated to
providing preventive health services to the residents of Hermosa Beach,
Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. Our programs and services are designed to
empower people to make healthier lifestyle choices and improve their overall
quality of life.
We are in search of a registered dietitian with a solid knowledge of
nutrition, wellness programs, and fitness classes and workshops. This
position provides nutrition consultation for clients, including evaluation
and assessment of nutritional problems. It requires knowledge of
complementary and alternative medicine programs and services and nutrition
screening procedures. Experience and knowledge in child nutrition, including
school nutrition, garden education programs, and teaching diabetes and
weight management classes, are highly desirable.
Applicant must have a bachelors degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, or
related field, and be a registered dietitian with the American Dietetic
Association. At least one to two years of progressive experience in teaching
group classes and in providing nutrition consultations to individuals and
groups is required. Individual must have excellent professional level verbal
and written communication skills, demonstrate good judgment and a customer
service focus, and possess organizational and decision making skills and a
polished and professional demeanor. Individual must demonstrate a healthy
lifestyle.
